Adding to the rich cultural heritage of the Western Carolina Mountains, is the Waynesville Gallery Association.  Waynesville is at the heart of an arts culture that's thriving in Haywood County.   The Gallery Association creates opportunities for artists to interact with the public, through Art After Dark, walking tours, festivals and events. 

Waynesville is a walking town whose visitors stroll on brick lined sidewalks under a canopy of trees.  The streets are filled with unique shops, art galleries, working studios, specialty shops and reinvented historic properties rich in local tradition.  Waynesville encompasses it all, from traditional to contemporary.  From a gourmet chocolate shop, splendid dining at various locations, all types of shopping, independent bookstores and a Mast General Store. 

There are many festivals and events throughout the year that keep Waynesville full of life and laughter.   Main Street is even closed down from time to time for some good ole fashioned block parties and street dances.  And the first Friday of every month during the warmer months is Art After Dark.
